ROMEOVILLE, IL: Lacrosse season is back and the Walsh Cavaliers opened their 2026 campaign facing 11th ranked Lewis. The Cavaliers lived up to the challenge, competing with the Flyers throughout the contest. Lewis' high powered offense was the main difference as the Cavs were out shot, 62-34. With the Flyer's 37 shots on goal, goalie Austin England had a busy day in the net. Walsh also had 29 turnovers which did not help the cause. 

The Maroon and Gold will learn from the defeat and return to the field for neutral site games at Frostburg State this weekend. A tall task will be at hand on Friday as the Cavs face reigning national champions, Adelphi University.
