NORTH CANTON, OH: In a hard fought G-MAC Quarterfinal, the Walsh Men's Lacrosse team advanced to the semifinals, defeating Wheeling, 12-7 on Larry Staudt Field. The game was chalked up to be a good one as the 4th seeded Men faced 5th seeded Wheeling, just a week prior. The Cavs earned a win then, 15-6.
An evenly played first quarter saw aggression mixed with high emotions as both teams connected on just two goals in the first quarter. The Cavaliers opened the game up in the second 15 minutes as Walsh scored four goals, taking a 6-3 lead to half. A string of three straight goals to end the 3rd and start the 4th quarters gave the Maroon and Gold a 6 goal cushion. The Cardinals were able to get back within 4 but possession control from the Cavs along with smart schemes helped secure the victory.
With the win, the Men will travel to #1 seeded Seton Hill on Wednesday for a 3:30pm face off in the G-MAC Semifinals. Tickets for the game can be found here:
