NORTH CANTON, OH: Two G-MAC contests resulted in two losses this week for Walsh Men's Soccer. The Cavaliers welcomed Ashland on Thursday night and Tiffin on Saturday afternoon.
Against the Eagles, the Cavs lost 4-0. Despite several chances in the first half, Ashland pulled away after halftime.
Walsh outshot Ashland 8-7 in the first half and had six corner kicks. Evan Napier, Stefan Velickovic, and Aleksandar Miketic all put shots on goal. Ashland took a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute when Tom Woodward scored.
The game changed in the second half as Ashland created much more pressure. The Eagles outshot Walsh 18-5 after halftime and added three more goals.
Ashland ended the game with a 25-13 advantage in shots and a 12-6 advantage in shots on goal. Walsh did finish with a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Pedro Costa faced a lot of pressure in goal and finished with eight saves.
Against Tiffin, Walsh fell 5-0. The Dragons scored three times in the first half and added two more goals after halftime to earn the win. The Cavs were out shot 18-7.Â
The Maroon and Gold will travel to Ashland, Ohio for their next match on Thursday, September 24th at 6:30 p.m., where they will take on Ashland University.
