NORTH CANTON, OH: Walsh University Women's Soccer earned a 2-0 win over Ursuline College on Thursday at Larry Staudt Field. The Cavaliers controlled the attack for most of the match and finished with a big advantage in shots.
Walsh got off to a quick start when Kate Young scored in the fifth minute to give the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead. Walsh continued to create chances throughout the first half, finishing with 14 shots compared to just two for Ursuline.
The Cavaliers kept the pressure on after halftime. Katie Norris had two early shots on goal before finding the back of the net in the 64th minute off an assist from Kailey Hobart, extending the Walsh lead to 2-0.
Walsh finished the match with a 25-4 advantage in total shots and put nine shots on goal compared to two for Ursuline. The Cavaliers also earned five corner kicks.
The Maroon and Gold will travel to Cedarville, Ohio for their next match on Thursday, October 1st at 5:00 p.m., when they take on Cedarville University.
