(BIG RAPIDS, Mich.) – Walsh closed out its regular season competition against the GLIAC North Division with a 77-62 loss to No. 25 Ferris State on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (5-7, 1-7) have lost six straight while the Bulldogs (12-2, 8-0) remain unbeaten in the conference.

The Cavs played well at the beginning of the game and led the Bulldogs early on, but a 16-4 Ferris State run midway through the opening half put the hosts up and gave them a lead they didn't relinquish. At the half, the Bulldogs held a 38-30 advantage.

Walsh made a run midway through the second half and came within five at 56-51 with 9:54 to go after Kyle Arnold (6-4, Sr., North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Zac Carter (5-9, So., Ironton, OH/HS) made consecutive 3-pointers. After a Ferris State timeout, the Bulldogs regained composure and went on a 17-7 run to put momentum back in their favor.

Four Cavs scored in double figures with Jesse Hardin Jr. (6-2, Jr., Warren, OH/Harding) scoring a team-high 16 points. Arnold added 13, Rian Burrell (Jr., 6-3, Zanesville, OH/HS) scored 11, and L.J. Campbell (6-8, Sr., Weirton, WV/Weir) tallied 10.

The Bulldogs were led by Jared Stolicker with 21 points.

Walsh will return for its first game against the South Division on Thursday when it hosts Ashland. The Cavs and Eagles are set to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. following the women's game. The game will be broadcast on 95.9 FM WNPQ.
