(TIFFIN, Ohio) – Walsh returned to the win column in authoritative fashion with an impressive 80-50 win over Tiffin on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers (11-6, 8-4) featured a balanced offensive attack as 11 players reached the scoring column with nine players making 3-point shots.

On the opposite end, Walsh's defense stepped up once again forced the Dragons (5-12, 3-9) into a majority of their turnovers and held the hosts to a 28.6 percentage on shots.

The Cavs outscored the Dragons by 14 in the second quarter to take a 49-29 lead into halftime and kept the pressure on in the second half as they led by as many as 34.

As aforementioned, Walsh was lethal from outside as it made 12-of-22 from 3-point range. The number of 3-pointers made and the 54.5 percent success rate are both season highs. The Cavaliers were 31-of-63 overall, 49.2 percent, from the field.

Alex Hochstedler led the charge with 17 points with a pair of treys. She added six rebounds and three assists in the win. Holly Grober was the only other Cavalier in double figures with 11 points. She was 5-of-8 from the field and pulled down four boards.

Brittni Clopton was strong defensively with seven rebounds and three steals to lead the team in each category. Allison Butler dished out five assists on the offensive end.

The Cavaliers will head on the road again for their next game as they battle Findlay on Thursday. Tip-off from Croy Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m.
