Northwood scored the first point of the first set, but after that it was all Walsh as it jumped out to a 7-2 lead after an ace by Amanda Adoranti. A kill by Emily Arnold later in the set gave the Maroon and Gold their largest lead 20-10.
The second set proved to be much closer as the Cavaliers found themselves on the bottom end of a 12-5 score midway through the set. The Cavs then rallied to score then next six points to go down one. Walsh proceeded to tie 15-15 after a kill by Justine Coffman and then took the lead after an attack error by the Timberwolves.
Northwood eventually went up 21-19, but the Cavaliers closed out the set with six of the last seven points thanks in large part to four kills by Lauren Loucks.
With momentum clearly on their side, the Cavaliers jumped out to a 6-0 lead to take advantage of the third set. Northwood rallied back to cut the deficit to two at 8-6, but could get no closer as Walsh handled the rest of the game.

On the defensive end, the Maroon and Gold front line played huge and came up with six blocks. Arnold was a part of four of them to lead the team. Elsewhere on the defense, Erica Schiets tallied 18 digs for match-high honors.
