(PHILIPPI, W.VA.) – A second half rally helped Walsh pull away from Alderson Broaddus in a 82-70 decision at Rex Pyles Arena on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers (13-4, 8-3) have now won four-straight and sweep their first series with the Battlers (14-6, 8-5).

After AB opened up the second half with a pair of baskets to take a 41-39 lead, just its third of the game, but it wouldn't last long. Walsh immediately answered with a layup by Andy Lucien and regained the lead on a triple by Darryl Straughter. It started a 20-9 run that put the Cavaliers 61-50 midway through the second half.

Walsh eventually pushed its lead to 15 when a Branden Wilkins layup made the score 75-60 with 3:10 to play. The Battlers eventually shaved that down to a 10-point deficit, but the Cavs started going to the foul line and hit six free throws for their largest lead of the night at 81-65.

Wilkens had his best game of the season as he made 8-of-13 for a career-high and team-best 18 points off the bench. Bo Furcron was a point shy of him with 17 as he was 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 behind the arc.

Chandler Vaudrin had another spectacular day as he recorded his fifth consecutive double-double and 10th of the season with 15 points and 10 assists. He was two rebounds shy of his fourth triple-double of the season.

Straughter rounded out a quartet of Cavaliers in double-figures with 12 points.

Walsh shot exceptionally well overall as it made 34-of-60 percent from the field for 56.7 percent. The Cavs also kept control of the ball well too and committed a season-low seven turnovers.

The Cavs will stay in West Virginia for the weekend and head just a little more east to Elkins to take on Davis & Elkins on Saturday. Tip-off with the Senators is set for 2 p.m.
