Cavs Take Down Chargers 68-60

Box Score

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh avenged an earlier-season loss with a 68-60 victory over Hillsdale at Alumni Arena on Thursday evening. It was a pivotal win for the Cavaliers (13-8, 10-5) who switched spots with the Chargers (12-8, 10-6) for fifth place in the G-MAC standings.

The Maroon and Gold never trailed and started the game on fire with a 15-3 run capped by an Alex Hochstedler 3-pointer. Kimmie Borck sparked the run with the first five points of the game with a 3-pointer and a layup.

It would be a sign of things to game as Borck finished the game with a team-high 17 points while Hochstedler followed with 14 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Borck was 5-of-7 from the field with five rebounds. Hochstedler was 5-of-9.

Hillsdale was able to come back and threaten late, but could only cut the deficit to a two-possession game. Each time the Chargers did, the Cavaliers answered with another bucket.

Walsh will have a chance to take down another team it lost to earlier this season as it welcomes Findlay on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff with the Oilers is set for 3 p.m.
