Men's Basketball falls in NCAA regional contest

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Walsh Cavaliers fell short in the regional quarterfinal this afternoon against Bellarmine University, 81-61. The Cavaliers end their historic season with a record of 24-8. Bellarmine will move on to the regional semifinal, which is set to be played tomorrow (March 17). 

Balanced scoring was not even for the Cavaliers as three players scored in double figures. Reece Bogan drilled four three pointers en route to 14 points to lead Walsh's offense. Sterling Christy and Darryl Straughter followed with 13 a piece. Christy garnered a team-high seven rebounds and also dished out a team-best five assists. Freshman standout, JT Shumate, was held to only one field goal throughout the contest. 

Adam Eberhard led Bellarmine with 16 points and eight assists. The Knights shot a combined 60.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc.
