Box Score HILLSDALE, Mich. - The #14 ranked Walsh Cavaliers traveled to Hillsdale to take on the Chargers earlier Thursday evening (Jan. 30). The Cavaliers pulled out a one point win over Hillsdale (70-69) in the final two seconds of the game. Walsh continues their 13-game winning streak as they improve to 18-2 overall and 11-0 in the G-MAC.
Hillsdale led the Cavaliers through the majority of the contest, as Walsh's first lead came at the 6:15 mark of the fourth quarter when Quionche Carter connected for a three. The final six minutes of the game featured three ties and four lead changes, until Alyssa Dean's game-winning layup with only two seconds remaining secured the win for the Cavaliers.
Carter led all scorers with 24 points, while also securing 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. Tyler Newkirk played yet another complete game as she contributed 12 points and five rebounds, while leading the Cavs in assists with four and steals with three. Mayci Sales and Megan Ball followed with 10 a piece, while Sales had six rebounds and Ball had five.
Walsh has a quick turnaround with Findlay as they face the Oilers at their place on Saturday (Feb. 1) at 1 pm.
