NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Mayor's Cup remains with the Walsh Cavaliers as they defeated Malone earlier this evening (Feb. 26), 71-61 for their 19th straight win of the season. The Cavaliers improve to 24-2 overall and a perfect 17-0 in the G-MAC. 

Quionche Carter led the team with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Mayci Sales contributued 12 points and 10 boards to both record double-doubles. Both Carter and Sales were honored prior to tonight's game for reaching the 1,000 point milestone. Tyler Newkirk and Alyssa Dean each scored 11 points. Newkirk was 2-3 from beyond the arc and also added seven boards and five assists.

Despite a lack luster shooting night, every player that entered the game for the Cavs was able to score. Walsh held Malone to 36 percent from the field and 22 percent from three. The Cavaliers also outrebounded the Pioneers 49-34.

Walsh will head to Lake Erie College for a 1 pm start time on Saturday (Feb. 29).
