Box Score CANTON, Ohio- The Walsh University Men's Basketball team ended their 2020-21 season after a loss to cross-town rival Malone in the G-MAC Quarter Final game last night(March 2). The Cavaliers fell to the Pioneers 64-75.

SHORT STORY: After a challenging year for the Cavaliers with Covid, the men's basketball team would fall after the first round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship. The Cavs faced the Pioneers, for the third time this season. A difficult night connecting offensively would play a huge role in the Cavaliers season ending loss.
Freshmen Nic Smith posted an impressive season high 28 points for the Cavaliers, a dominating offensive performance from the promising young player. Smith also added 8 total rebounds, 1 block and 2 steals against the Pioneers. Darryl Straughter would be the only other Cavalier player to post significant numbers on the board. Straughter added 22 points and contributed 4 assists.
The Pioneers were led by Bryce Butler and Justin Miller. Butler added 23 points and 7 rebounds, while Miller tallied 18 points and 4 boards on the night.
The Cavaliers remain hopeful as a number of players look to build on this season when they return for the 2021-22 season.
