CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN LOADED D1 FIELD AT LEHIGH; KREFT SETS NEW RECORD

BETHLEHEM, PA- The Walsh University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, September 30th. More than 450 colleges or universities were represented at the event which included 12 races throughout the day. Two opening races got the event kicked off, followed by six college races and then four high school races. The Cavalier men placed 24th overall while the women placed 15th overall. Notre Dame transfer, Zach Kreft, led the Cavalier's once again, setting a new school record in the 8k. 

FOR THE CAVALIER MEN:
  • MEN'S GOLD 8K
  • Zach Kreft, once again, paced the Cavaliers with an impressive eigth place finish overall out of over 415 runners from Division I schools. 
  • Kreft crossed the finish line with a total run time of 23:14.9, setting a new school record in the 8k. Kreft's time was not far off from the leader who crossed the line just after the 23:00 minute mark.
  • Other notable runners for the Cavs were Nathan Moore, crossing the line at 23:57.4 placing him 93rd overall.
  • Mitchel Dunham(24:42.1), Julian Shrock(24:54.4), Drew Roberts ( 25:00.7) Seth Macura(25:23.7), Drew Monahan(25:25.2), Logan Ison(25:28.0)Noah Graham(25:50.1), Anthony Toskin(25:53.6) also competed for the Cavaliers.
  • The maroon and gold finished in 24th place overall.

FOR THE CAVALIER WOMEN:
 
  • WOMEN'S BROWN 8K
  • Freshmen, Claire Rethman, paced the Cavs with a 62nd place finish overall and a finishing time of 22:19.0.
  • Camryn Barker, also a freshmen, was second in line for the maroon and gold. She crossed the line at 22:33.7 and finished in 78th place.
  • Teja Young grabbed the 90th spot as she crossed the finish line with a time of 22:40.4.
  • Elly Heine(22:54.5), Natalie Boyden(23:10.1), Izzy Rammel(23:16.3) and Bailey Menegay(23:34.2) rounded out the Cavalier lineup.
  • The Women finished in 15th place overall.
