FINDLAY, OHIO- The Walsh University Men's Cross Country team leave Findlay as G-MAC Champions for the 2022 season. A wildly successful day for the program, the Cavaliers secured their fifth team Championship title in six years. The #12 Nationally ranked Cavalier runners talents extend deep through their lineup and that was more present than ever on Saturday.
Zach Kreft was once again on top of the podium as the the first runner to cross the finish line with a clocked time of 24:05.0. Kreft has remained steady all Fall season for the Cavaliers, marking this as his third 1st place finish as a Cavalier. The Notre Dame transfer would cap off the regular season for the Cavaliers as the Great Midwest Runner of the Year. The entire Cavalier crew would sweep top tournament honors as head coach Rob Mizicko, was named Coach of the Year and freshman, Evan Jarold was named Freshman of the Year. Evan Jarold finished in the top 10 of the field on Saturday with a final run time of 25:13.5.
Nathan Moore was also selected for first team honors after finishing in third place overall for the maroon and gold. Moore crossed the finish line with a run time of 24:26.8.Earning All-Conference second team honors on the day were Drew Roberts(25:13.7), Julian Shrock(25:17.0), and Mitchel Dunham(25:23.1). All three Cavs finished in the top 20 of the field.
The Cavaliers head into the post season ranked #2 in the Midwest Region.
