Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - With the help of the senior leadership on the Walsh Cavaliers men's basketball team, Walsh was able to power past the Findlay Oilers on Thursday (Feb. 10) night at Alumni Arena in a 82-73 win. The two seniors on the team - Darryl Straughter and Caleb Canter combined for 45 points on the night behind clutch baskets from the pair.

After a topsy-turvy first half that saw seven ties and three lead changes, Findlay took an 40-38 lead into the locker room at the half. Findlay got a four-point play 1:19 into the half for a 44-38 lead. Over the next four minutes, Walsh erupted on a 16-0 run that saw the six-point deficit turn into a ten-point lead for the Cavaliers. Straughter scored five, Garrison Keeslar and Canter each scored four while Milan Square capped it with a three-pointer. Walsh led by as many as 14 in the second half and they did not let Findlay get within eight points over the final six minutes.
FOR THE CAVALIERS
- Straughter tallied a game-high 27 points on ten-of-18 shooting with five three pointers and two free throws.
- In the contest, Straughter surpassed 2,000 career points, becoming the second player in program history to hit 2K (and the fourth active D2 player).
- He sits 66 points out of the top spot in scoring.
- Canter converted nine-of-11 shots for 18 points on the floor with seven rebounds.
- Garrison Keeslar warmed up in the second half for an 11-point, eight rebound, five assist effort to go with two blocks and a pair of steals.
- Luke Howes came off the bench to add nine points (with four free throws) and five rebounds.
- Walsh outrebounded Findlay 21-8 in the second half to take the rebounding battle 33-23.
- The CAvaliers shot 57.7% from the floor in the game, making 30-of-52 shots overall. The team made nine-of-18 three pointers and tallied an 81.3% free throw percentage with 13-of-16 makes.
FOR THE OILERS
- Anthony Masterlasco ended the game with 18 points for the Oilers while Tre'Maine Gray finished with 17 points. Both players had six field goals and a trio of triples.
- Nathan Bruns also converted six field goals foe 13 points in the game and a team-high eight rebounds.
- Findlay shot 45.8% overall (27-59), 33.3% (8-24) from three and 11-of-15 at the charity stripe.
Walsh will host Hillsdale on Saturday (Feb. 12) afternoon in a G-MAC battle, beginning at 3:00 PM.
