CAVS GET A WIN BEFORE HOLIDAY BREAK

NORTH CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers got back in the win column before the Christmas break with a win over the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan.

The first seven minutes of the game went back and forth with the lead changing multiple times. By the 13:05 mark, the game was tied at 13 apiece. The Cavs then went on a quick run with three pointers by Milan Square and Logan Murray. This gave them a 10 point advantage with 10 minutes left in the half. Walsh would extend the lead to 13 and go into the break with a 47-34 lead.

The lead would hover around 10 points for the first part of the second half until a dunk by Colin McHale that provided a spark for the Cavaliers. Walsh went on a 22-9 run in the following 6 minutes, led by Garrison Keeslar and Kobe Mitchell, that would extend the lead to 22. In the end, the Cavs walked away with a 94-76 win that moves them to 6-3 on the year.

Walsh will have a 10 day break over the holidays and then be back in action on Friday, December 29th against Carnegie Mellon. This game will tip off at 5:00 in Alumni Arena.

FOR THE CAVS 
  • Kobe Mitchell tied for the Cavalier lead in points with 19 while adding 6 rebounds.
  • Garrison Keeslar nearly had a triple-double with 19 points, 12 assists, and 8 rebounds. 
  • Zack Oddo added 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists on 3-6 shooting from three.
  • Logan Murray had an efficient 12 points on 4-6 shooting from the field.
