NORTH CANTON, OH: The Maroon and Gold of the Walsh Men's Basketball team returned to Alumni Arena last night to host the final home game of 2023. Coming off of the holiday break, the Men defeated Carnegie Mellon, 75-65. After the first bucket, Walsh never trailed and had a comfortable 6 point lead at the break. Up by as much as 16 in the final 10 minutes, the Men never looked back in the road to victory. A key part of the win was the rebounding battle as Walsh out-rebounded Carnegie Mellon, 47-29. The Cavaliers scored 19 second chance points off the dominating rebounding performance.
Three Cavs were in double figures with
Kobe Mitchell leading the way with 23 points. This was his 4th 20+ point performance of the season thus far.
Walsh will return to the court on January 2nd for the first game of the new year. They will face the Ohio Dominican Panthers, in Columbus, at 7:30pm.
Through 10 games, the Cavs are 7-3 and 1-3 in the G-MAC. Kentucky Wesleyan is currently in first place with an 8-2 overall record and 3-0 conference record.

FOR THE CAVS
- Kobe Mitchell led all scorers with 23 points. He shot a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line and made 3 threes.
- Logan Murray and Milan Square each had double figures off the bench scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Zack Oddo, Garrison Keeslar, and Ayden Carter nearly had double doubles. Oddo led the game in rebounds with 10.
- In the second half, Walsh shot 15-15 from the foul line. They were 21-23 for the game.
