NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh Men's basketball team took on the 12
th ranked Ashland Eagles on Saturday afternoon in a top 25 matchup. The 25
th ranked Cavaliers came into the game undefeated on the year with a record of 3-0 and 1-0 in the conference.

It was a back and forth game early with the lead changing multiple times in the first 10 minutes. The Cavs held a 17-16 lead midway through the first half, when they would go on a 12-3 run to extend the lead to 29-19. Ashland clawed their way back by getting to the free throw line. The Eagles would shoot 22 free throws in the first half and make 19. On the other side, the Cavs would only shoot 6 free throws throughout the first half. This would make it just a 1 point game going into the break, with the Cavaliers up 39-38.

Despite some foul trouble, Walsh started off the second half quickly by scoring the first 9 points. This gave them a 10 point lead and all the momentum. Once again, Ashland would make and run and climb all the way back to take the lead. The final 8 minutes would include multiple lead changes as the two teams traded punches. Ultimately, the Eagles would hit a pair of late threes that would give them a 82-72 edge in the end.
The Cavs will have a quick turnaround as they take on D'Youville on Sunday December 3rd. The game will be back at home in Alumni Arena at 1PM.

FOR THE CAVS
- Kobe Mitchell led the Cavaliers in scoring once again with a game-high 24, shooting 7-16 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line. He also added 6 rebounds and a steal.
- Junior standout Garrison Keeslar added 18 points while leading the team in assists with 6, and in rebounds with 9.
- Colin McHale and Ayden Carter combined for 23 points while hitting 5 three pointers. Â
