MONTEVALLO, AL: The reigning G-MAC Champs got their 2023 season underway this past weekend in Alabama against #12 ranked, University of Montevallo. The season kicked off with a double header on Saturday and one game on Sunday. The Cavs fell in all three contests and were outscored on the weekend 35-10. Looking ahead, the team will head to Greensburg, PA to face Seton Hill 2/24-2/26.

FOR THE CAVS GAME 1

• Nick Lallathin started on the mound. He went 5.1 innings, giving up nine runs and ten hits. 

• Matt McGrath went 2-5 with two RBI's and a home run. 

• Benny Hymes IV also had two hits. 

FOR THE CAVS GAME 2

• Alex Beyerle pitched five innings. He had four strikeouts and gave up six hits. Cole Brogan pitched three innings giving up two runs. 

• Matt McGrath had three hits, going 3-4. 

FOR THE CAVS GAME 3 

• Brody Ware went 4.1 innings, giving up six hits and five runs.

• Matt McGrath was once again a force for the Cav offense with two hits, including a home run.
