NORTH CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers opened Great Midwest play this past weekend, at home, against Tiffin University. The Cavs won three out of the four contests and outscored the Dragons 22-20. The Maroon and Gold battled the Dragons, winning two of the three games on walk offs. The first walk off came in game one, thanks to a Cam Hollobaugh home run in the bottom of the ninth. The second game of the series was suspended due to darkness and wasn't resumed until Monday, 3/20. It was then, in the bottom of the eighth, that Matt McGrath hit a walk off single to secure back to back victories for the Cavs. Looking ahead, the Cavs will be traveling to Nashville, TN to take on Trevecca Nazarene University on 3/25-3/26.

FOR THE CAVS GAME 1

• Nick Lallathin started on the mound in game one for the Cavs. He went 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits.
• Mason McElroy, Zach Thompson, and Cole Brogan closed out the game for the Cavs, allowing only one run and two hits for the remainder of the game.
• Jax Miller had a successful game at the plate with four hits. Brady Maciak and Shea Simmer also had three hits.
• Cam Hollobaugh hit a walk-off homer in the ninth inning, leading the Cavs to a 9-8 victory.

FOR THE CAVS GAME 2

• Brody Ware threw four innings. He had six strikeouts and gave up three hits. Marshall Shepherd and Cole Brogan closed the game out allowing zero runs and one hit.
• Brady Maciak led the offense with another multi-hit game and a game tying RBI in the fourth inning.
• Matt McGrath hit a walk-off single, scoring Brady Maciak in extra innings to give the Cavs a 5-4 win.

FOR THE CAVS GAME 3

• Asher Soltis went 3.1 innings, giving up seven hits and four runs. Zach Thompson, Patrick Ciccantelli, and Marshall Shepherd all made relief appearances for the Cavs.
• Jax Miller went three for four.
• Shea Simmer doubled twice, with two RBIs and scored a run for the Cavs.

FOR THE CAVS GAME 4

• Alex Beyerle started on the mound. He went five strong innings, giving up one run on four hits and striking out five.
• Noah Sample pitched 1.2 innings for the Cavs, giving up zero runs and no hits.
• Matt McGrath had a multi-hit game for the Cavs.
• Patrick Ciccantelli had a huge pinch hit single in the seventh inning, driving in two runs, giving the Cavs a 3-2 lead, which led to a win.
