THE MAROON AND GOLD TAKE THREE OF FOUR IN MUSIC CITY

NASHVILLE,TN: The sound of the bat hitting the ball was music to the ears of the Walsh Baseball players this past weekend in Tennessee. The Cavaliers won their second straight Great Midwest series against the Trevecca Trojans, taking three of the four match ups. 26 runs were scored on 41 hits throughout the weekend. Justin Molloy, Cole Brogan, and Asher Soltis would be named the winning pitchers for the three respective contests. The Maroon and Gold will host a nonconference game, vs Notre Dame College, on 3/29. First pitch is set for 3pm.

FOR THE CAVS 
GAME 1
  • Down 6-3 heading to the seventh inning, the Cavalier bats would get hot as they scored 10 runs during the final three at bats. 
  • Benny Hymes IV went 4-5 with three RBI's.
  • Cam Hollobaugh was 4-6 at the plate with two doubles and three RBI's. 
  • Brady Maciak had two doubles and a home run
GAME 2
  • A 5-5 tie would take the game to extra innings. A Benny Hymes IV solo HR and an RBI single from Brody Acres made the difference for the Cavs to secure the win. 
  • Hymes IV would have four RBI's, including two home runs. 
  • On the mound for the Cavs was Brody Ware and Cole Brogan. Ware went five innings, striking out four. Brogan went five innings as well, striking out nine and only giving up four hits. 
GAME 3
  • Jax Miller went 2-3 at the plate with one RBI and a stolen base. 
  • Brodey Acres and Cam Hollobaugh would each drive a run in for the Cavs. 
  • Asher Soltis went all seven innings in the shut out, striking out eight and spraying seven hits. 
GAME 4
  • Trevecca got out to a quick 2-0 lead and the Cavs could never quite get over the deficit. 
  • Jax Miller continued his strong day with a solo home run in the fourth inning. 
  • Ben Lefebvre went 2-4 at the plate, including a two run homer and a double.
