CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers traveled across town to take on Malone on Thursday. The Pioneers got out to a quick start, outscoring Walsh 20-9 in the first quarter.
Kiley Dyrlund would help the Cavs battle back in the second quarter, scoring 9 points in the period. The Cavaliers went into the break only down 4 with a score of 32-28.

The second half went back and forth between the two teams with multiple lead changes throughout. A late free throw for Malone at the end of the fourth quarter tied the game at 48 and sent it into overtime.

In the final minute of overtime, Walsh took a 60-59 lead after a free throw from
Alycia Triplett. Malone got the ball back and Brinn Hunt would make a clutch 3-pointer with only 16 seconds left. This would be the final basket of the game as the Pioneers would walk away with a 62-60 victory over the Cavaliers.
Walsh will be back in action on Saturday in Alumni Arena with a 1 PM game against Ohio Dominican.Â
