NORTH CANTON, OH - Walsh Volleyball continued their 2024 season with three exciting matches from October 18 to October 19 during the Midwest Region Crossover tournament held at the Hammond Sportsplex. The Cavaliers entered the tournament looking to build on their recent success as they played against tough competition.

GAME 1 FOR THE CAVS
In their opening match against Grand Valley State University, Walsh struggled to find their rhythm, losing in four sets.
Sydney Dixon led the team with 14 kills while
Maggie Mladenova added 10.
Jayme Zoeckler orchestrated the offense with a solid performance of 35 assists.
Arora Levengood anchored the defense with an impressive 23 digs.
GAME 2 FOR THE CAVS
The Cavaliers faced a thrilling challenge against Lewis University in a five-set showdown. After dropping the first set, Walsh rallied back to take the second set in dramatic fashion.
Sammie DiBease was a standout performer with an incredible 24 kills, while Zoeckler contributed another strong outing with 53 assists. Levengood once again led the defense with a remarkable 39 digs.
GAME 3 FOR THE CAVS
Walsh concluded their tournament with a hard-fought victory over Wayne State University (MI). After winning the first set decisively, the Cavaliers faced stiff competition but managed to secure the win in five sets. Dixon led the charge with 17 kills, while DiBease added another solid performance with her own contributions. Zoeckler continued to shine with 42 assists and Levengood anchored the defense with another strong showing of 19 digs.
Throughout these three matches, Walsh demonstrated resilience and determination against formidable opponents. Key players like
Sydney Dixon and
Sammie DiBease consistently delivered strong performances while
Jayme Zoeckler effectively ran the offense.
Arora Levengood proved to be a defensive anchor, recording high dig numbers across all matches.
The Maroon and Gold will look to build on their experiences from this tournament as they prepare for their next game against Lake Erie College on October 25 at 7:00 PM in North Canton, OH at the Cecchini Center. This match will also serve as their Dig Pink Game in support of breast cancer awareness.
