CAVS RETURN TO THE WIN COLUMN WITH A SWEEP

NORTH CANTON, OH:  The Walsh University Volleyball Team returned to the win column with a decisive victory over Ursuline College, sweeping them 3-0 on Tuesday night. This win follows a challenging weekend where the Cavaliers faced off against Lake Erie College and Ashland University, splitting the matches 1-1. 

In the first set, Walsh quickly established control. Jayme Zoeckler set the tone with an assist to Maggie Mladenova for the opening kill, followed by a service ace that extended the lead. The Cavaliers displayed their offensive strength with kills from Sammie DiBease and Sydney Dixon, ultimately taking the first set 25-17.

The second set saw Walsh maintain momentum, with standout performances from Anna West and DiBease, both contributing multiple kills. Despite a few errors, Walsh closed out the set 25-19, showcasing their depth and adaptability.

In the final set, the Cavaliers were relentless. Mladenova and Dixon continued to shine, while Zoeckler's setting was pivotal in orchestrating attacks. Walsh's efficiency peaked, hitting an impressive .320 for the match, and they secured the victory with a final score of 25-12.

The Cavaliers will look to build on their momentum as they prepare for their upcoming matches, aiming to solidify their standing in the G-MAC with strong performances ahead. Walsh heads out west to finish the week facing Tiffin on Friday night and Findlay on Saturday afternoon.

Sammie DiBease was the standout once more, racking up 13 kills.
Sydney Dixon followed closely with 11 kills.
Anna West contributed 9 kills and 4 blocks.
Jayme Zoeckler set the pace with 33 assists, leading the Cavaliers to a .320 hitting percentage.
Arora Levengood dominated defensively, logging 17 digs.
• The team showcased their efficiency, only allowing Ursuline to hit .076 for the match.
