OILERS TAKE DOWN THE CAVS

FINDLAY, OH - The Walsh University Cavaliers faced a formidable opponent in the University of Findlay Oilers on Saturday afternoon, falling 28-17 at Donnell Stadium. Despite the loss, the Cavaliers showed resilience and fought hard throughout the game.

Quarterback T.C. Molk had a solid performance, completing 13 of 23 passes for 177 yards with no interceptions. However, he was under constant pressure, being sacked 9 times for a total loss of 61 yards. This pressure significantly impacted Walsh's offensive rhythm throughout the game. The Cavaliers' ground game struggled to gain traction, netting only 56 yards on 41 attempts, highlighting the strength of Findlay's defensive front.

The game began with Findlay taking an early lead through an 11-yard touchdown run by Jayden Farmer. Walsh responded with a field goal in the second quarter, keeping the game close at halftime with a 7-3 score. However, Findlay's offense found its rhythm in the second half, scoring three more touchdowns to secure the win. Walsh showed fight, scoring two touchdowns in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Defensively, Walsh was led by linebacker Kameron Gill, who recorded 12 total tackles and forced a fumble, showcasing his playmaking ability. Cam Hollobaugh also had a strong showing with 11 tackles, including one for loss, demonstrating the Cavaliers' defensive tenacity. Marvin Conkle contributed significantly with 11 tackles as well.

Cameron Macon was a bright spot for the Cavaliers' offense, rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. His performance kept Walsh in the game and provided crucial scoring in the second half. Trey Martin emerged as the top receiver for Walsh, catching 7 passes for 127 yards, consistently providing a reliable target for Molk throughout the game.

The loss drops Walsh to a 4-5 record (3-4 in conference play), while Findlay improves to 8-1 (6-1 in conference). Despite the setback, the Cavaliers showed moments of promise and competitiveness against a strong Findlay team. Next up, Walsh will return home to face Ashland University on November 9th at noon in North Canton, Ohio. This will also be Walsh's Salute to Service Game honoring veterans.
