WOMEN'S SOCCER DOMINATES IN KENTUCKY

OWENSBORO AND CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY: The Walsh Women's Soccer Team picked up two key wins this weekend as the push for the postseason continued! The two victories earned by the Maroon and Gold this weekend, helped secure a postseason spot in the G-MAC Playoffs! With 2 shutouts on the road, the Cavs will look to redeem themselves vs Malone on Wednesday, at home, at 5pm! 

Against Kentucky Wesleyan, Walsh dominated the match with a total of 14 shots compared to KWC's 6. The scoring began early with Kailey Hobart netting a goal in the 10th minute, assisted by Ally Stein. Shortly before halftime, Katie Norris added another goal in the 26th minute, assisted by Kate Young, sealing a 2-0 lead going into the break. Despite maintaining pressure in the second half, Walsh did not score again, but their defense remained strong, limiting KWC to just 2 shots on goal.

Heading back north to Stark County, the Cavs continued dominance vs the Saints of Thomas More. Walsh triumphed over Thomas More with a 3-0 scoreline. After a scoreless first half, the second half erupted with action. Ally Stein converted a penalty kick in the 51st minute to put Walsh on the board. Just minutes later, Corinne Casenhiser scored with an assist from Katie Norris in the 54th minute. Katie Corrigan capped off the scoring with a goal in the 84th minute. Walsh outshot Thomas More 13 to 9, and their defense was impressive again, allowing only 5 shots on goal.
