OILERS TAKE DOWN THE CAVS

NORTH CANTON, OH - The Walsh University Cavaliers fought hard but ultimately fell short in a closely contested 82-72 loss to the University of Findlay Oilers in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) action at Alumni Arena. This defeat brought Walsh's record to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while Findlay improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the G-MAC.

The game was a back-and-forth affair from the start, featuring 15 lead changes and 4 ties. The Cavaliers held a slim 34-31 advantage at halftime, but struggled to maintain their momentum in the second half as Findlay outscored them 51-38 to secure the win.

Zack Oddo continued his impressive play for Walsh, leading all scorers with a game-high 23 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting. Ayden Carter provided strong support with 17 points and 8 rebounds, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court Kobe Mitchell also contributed significantly, adding 16 points to the Cavaliers' effort.

Despite their strong individual performances, the Cavaliers struggled to contain Findlay's offense in the second half. Walsh's defense had difficulty stopping the Oilers in the paint, where they were outscored 58-32. The Cavaliers also committed 17 turnovers, which Findlay converted into 17 points.

Walsh's three-point shooting proved to be a challenge, as they managed to connect on only 9 of their 31 attempts from beyond the arc. This difficulty in finding their range from distance hindered their ability to keep pace with Findlay's scoring surge in the second half.

Coming off a thrilling overtime victory against Cedarville, the Cavaliers will look to regroup and bounce back in their next conference matchup.The are set to face a challenging opponent as they take on the Hillsdale College Chargers on December 14 at 3:00 P.M. in Alumni Arena. This matchup will be crucial for Walsh as they look to regain momentum in the G-MAC.
