ALLENDALE AND GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN: The Walsh Men's Tennis team had a successful weekend up north in Michigan this past weekend. After getting swept to Grand Valley State University on Friday, the Maroon and Gold bounced back with a vengeance on Saturday. Walsh defeated Davenport University, 4-1. Coming into the match, Davenport was 6-1, a top team in the region.
Philip Peter Carstensen earned Great Midwest Athlete of the Week honors with his stellar play over the weekend. He went 2-0 playing #1 singles and split his singles matches. He won at #3 singles to help lead the Cavaliers to an impressive regional victory.
The Cavs return to the court on Friday against John Carroll University. They will then travel to Detroit, Michigan to face Wayne State on Saturday.Â
