OWENSBORO, KY:
Ross Trias has earned the title of most dominant player and freshman in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Through coaches votes, Ross was honored by winning the Men's Tennis Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. Trias went undefeated at #1 singles in G-MAC play, dropping just one set. He is ranked #9 in the Midwest Region.
From Barcelona, Spain, Trias made an immediate impact for the Cavs helping them earn the 4th seed in the conference tournament. His undefeated record in conference play holds more weight as four fellow G-MAC schools were ranked in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Rankings.
Along with his Player and Freshman of the Year Awards, Trias made All-Conference First Team along with Women's team member, Lina Starke. Earning All-Conference Second Team from both programs was Taira Abildayeva,
Nicolas Stroehle, and
Joan Dasi.
Nicolas Stroehle earned the Men's Elite 26 Award. This award is given to the Student-Athlete with the highest GPA in their respective sport.
