AKRON, OH: Things are starting to heat up significantly for the Walsh Track and Field teams! Both teams competed at the Al Campbell Invite hosted by the University of Akron and showed out en masses with many top finishes and improvements on an already great season. Cam Beverly, Micah Gremling, and Dominic Nutter are just some of the top finishes. On the Women's side, Kya Epps, Claire Martin, and Claire Rethman continue to bring forward some of the best in Cavalier Track and Field.
On February 22nd- 23rd, the teams will compete at the G-MAC Conference Championships taking place at Ashland University!
FOR THE CAVSÂ IN AKRON
· Micah Gremling- PR'd and finished 2nd in the 60m dash and finished 1st in the 200m. His times were 6.71s and 21.55s. Both are Provisional marks. Currently, he is tied for the 9th fastest time in the nation for the 60m dash!
· Brody Pumneo- PR'd and finished 1st in the 800m. His time was 1:53.9.
· Xavier Foehl- PR'd and finished 2nd in the Mile. His time was 4:10.41.
· Kyle Woods- Finished 3rd in the 3000m. His time was 8:50.2.
· Theo Papas- Finished 4th in the 3000m. His time was 8:50.64.
· Max McVicker- Finished 5th in the 60m Hurdles. His time was 8.68s.
· O'Rhen Martin- Finished 5th in the High Jump. His height was 1.85m or 6'0.75".
· Oakley Kemp- Finished 4th in the Long Jump. His distance was 6.36m or 20'10.5".
· Dominic Nutter- Finished 1st in the Weight Throw. His distance was 20.55m or 67'5.25", which is a Provisional mark.
· Colton Ferrucci- Finished 4th in the Weight Throw. His distance was 17.46m or 57'3.5".
· Cam Beverly- PR'd and finished 1st in the High Jump at Mount Union. His height was 2.11m or 6'11", which is a Provisional mark and places him 18th in the nation!
· Kya Epps- Finished 1st in the 200m and 60m. Her times were 24.02s and 7.47s which are both Provisional marks. The season's best in the 200m moves her up to 9th in the nation!
· Claire Rethman- Finished 4th in the Mile. Her time was 5:07.59.
· Natalie Boyden- PR'd and finished 5th in the 3000m. Her time was 10:46.11.
· Anna Negulic- Finished 2nd in the Long Jump and 4th in the Triple Jump. Her distances were 5.27m and 10.33m or 17'3.5" and 33'10.75".
· Mackenzie Cutlip- Finished 3rd in the Long Jump. Her distance was 5.07m or 16'7.75".
· Claire Martin- Finished 1st in the Triple Jump. Her distance was 11.07m or 36'4".
