NORTH CANTON, OH: It may be a new season, but the Walsh Women's Lacrosse Team picked up right where last season ended, winning. The three time G-MAC Champions hosted the Daemen Wildcats in a rainy and wet home opener, Thursday afternoon. The sky may have been gloomy but the Cavs were not as they won in dominating fashion, 15-5. The team got right to business in the opening quarter, scoring six goals.
Rachel Black either scored or assisted four of those first six goals.
The Walsh defense was stifling over Daemen as they held them to only 13 shots and forced 23 turnovers. They also won the ground ball battle 20-13. 7 different Cavs scored in the opening day win!
The team will have a tall task in their next game against #14 University of Indianapolis. Start time is set for 12pm on Sunday.
