NORTH CANTON, OH: The first few games of the 2024 season have been nothing but tough, nationally ranked, competition. Saturday was no different as the Cavs hosted the Davenport University Panthers on Larry Staudt Field. In typical soggy, spring weather, the packed stands saw a classic lacrosse game with back and fourth scoring. The even scoring went for three quarters until Davenport broke the game open, taking an 9-5 lead. Walsh didn't go away easy, though, as they scored three goals in the fourth quarter to keep them in the game. Coming down the stretch in the final three minutes, the visiting Panthers kept control and held Walsh to no goals in their last minute efforts.
The Men will open G-MAC play against Tiffin University, at Tiffin, on Wednesday at noon.
