NORTH CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers took on the Panthers from Ohio Dominican this past weekend in their 2024 home opening conference series! With beautiful but windy weather Saturday, followed up by frigid temperatures and sleet Sunday, Walsh battled the elements winning three out of the four games.

Games 1 and 2 were an offensive clinic from the Cavs, scoring a combined 18 runs while holding the Panthers to 1 run total in the 14 innings played. Pitchers, Alex Beyerle and Nick Lallathin, threw complete games and took home the wins backed by an offensive onslaught from every Cavalier hitter.

Games 3 and 4 were a lot more competitive, the Cavs took home a comeback win in game 3 with a score of 12-9 and then fell 12-9 in game 4 unable to complete the home sweep. 

After a successful opening weekend, Walsh will look to stay hot against their rivals, the Malone Pioneers, at Munson Stadium on Wednesday, March 20th. First pitch is set for 10am.

FOR THE CAVS  (Game 1): 

• Nick Lallathin pitched a complete game going seven innings. He allowed 0 runs in his dominant performance. 
• Cam Hollobaugh, HR, and Brodey Acres, Grand Slam, led the offense. Acres had 5 RBI's. 
• Eli Sutton was 2-3 with 2 RBI's.

FOR THE CAVS (Game 2): 

• Cam Hollobaugh added another HR in game 2 and Jax Miller had a grand slam. 
• Alex Beyerle had 6 strikeouts in his complete game win. 
• Shea Simmer was 2-3 with 1 RBI.

FOR THE CAVS (Game 3): 

• Jax Miller, Cam Hollobaugh, Benny Hymes IV all had a home run in the win.
• Shea Simmer was 2-4 with 3 RBI's.
• Noah Sample got the win moving to 2-0. Zach Thompson earned the save.

FOR THE CAVS (Game 4): 

• Grant Blomeke was 2-4 with 3 RBI's and 1 HR.
• Andrew Morse went 1-2 with 3 RBI's and walked three times.
• Brady Maciak and Cam Hollobaugh each had a double in the game.
