BASEBALL TAKES 3 OF 4 AT THOMAS MORE

FLORENCE, KY: The Walsh Baseball Team traveled on the road this weekend to take on the Saints of Thomas More University. It was a competitive weekend for the Cavs, with 3 games decided by a total margin of 4 runs. In game 1, the Cavs jumped out to an early lead with pitcher Nick Lallathin striking out 11 to keep the Saints offense at bay.  Zach Thompson earned the save, pitching the closing two innings.

Game 2 was won in similar fashion as pitcher, Alex Beyerle, went the distance, holding Thomas More to 3 runs. The Cav offensive attack was led by catcher, Grant Blomeke, and third baseman, Brodey Acres.

Moving into game 3 on Sunday, the Cavs hopped out to an early lead, up 4-2, but a 3 run sixth inning put Thomas More in front. The Cavalier offense was unable to put up any more runs leading to the only loss of the weekend.

After game 3 the Cavs were looking to bounce back and indeed, they did, with 15 total runs in an offensive onslaught while 5 different pitchers, Chad Harper, Brandon Cahill, Michael Niro, Eric Bennett, and Noah Sample took the mound holding Thomas More to just 4 runs.

The Cavaliers will travel to California, PA on Wednesday, March 27th to take on California University of Pennsylvania. First pitch is set for 2:30pm.
