CANTON, OH: Walsh took on cross town rival Malone in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. The two games were played at Thruman Munson Stadium. The Cavs entered the day with a record or 23-14 and 14-8 in the G-MAC.

Walsh jumped out to an early lead in game one after an RBI sacrifice fly from
Davis Burick and an RBI triple from
Grant Blomeke. Malone then tied the game after a 3-run 3
rd inning. They added 4 more runs in the bottom of the 5
th inning to go up by a score of 7-4.
Grant Blomeke hit a 2-run homerun in the 6
th inning for Walsh, but it would not be enough as the Cavs would fall short by 1 run.

Malone struck first in game 2, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 3
rd inning. Walsh tied it up in the 5
th after RBI singles from
Benny Hymes IV and
Jax Miller. The Pioneers took the lead back for good in the bottom of the 5
th after a triple from JC Philippi that gave them a 3-2 advantage.
Walsh will look to bounce back this weekend in a four game series at Tiffin University. Saturday's games will be at 1PM and 4PM.
