FALCONS SHUT OUT WALSH

SOUTH EUCLID, OH: Softball traveled to Notre Dame College on Wednesday to take on the Falcons in a double-header. The cold and cloudy weather was a sign of things to come for the Cavaliers offensively.

In game 1, the Falcons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning after a 3-run homerun to center field. Walsh was unable to get the bats going, with only 3 hits for the game. Notre Dame added 2 more runs in the 4th inning and would go on to win by a final score of 5-0.

Game 2 was a pithing battle between the two teams. Walsh's Jaelyn Peterson pitched 6 innings while only allowing 1 earned run. However, she would be outdueled by Allison Weilnau from Notre Dame who pitched a complete game shutout. The Cavs were able to get 5 hits but could not bring a runner around to score and would ultimately lose 1-0.

Walsh will travel to Nashville for a conference double-header on Saturday against Trevecca Nazarene. The games will start at 2 and 4 PM.
