NORTH CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers took on the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene this past weekend at home, taking 3 of the 4 games in the series. Game 1 started off hot with a 3 run first inning by the Cavs.Â
Nick Lallathin was firing on the mound however a couple of late errors took the Trojans and Cavs into extra innings. The Trojans would end up completing the come back win. Game 2 was all Trevecca until the 7th inning when the Cavs put up 5 runs. Center fielder,
Mason Stoldt, walked it off with a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 7th to secure the Walsh win. Game 3 was a defensive showcase, with the final score of 4-2, in favor of the Maroon and Gold. Freshman,
Chad Harper, went 6 innings on the mound and picked up the win. Todd Bangston finished out the game and earned the save. The Cavaliers would keep the momentum going into game 4 putting up 10 runs and holding the Trojans to 8.
Cam Hollobaugh hit his 2nd and 3rd homerun of the weekend as
Benny Hymes IV continued the offensive clinic with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's.Â
The Cavaliers will play at Thurman Munson Stadium against their rival, the Malone Pioneers, on Tuesday April 9th.Â
