ROCHESTER, NY: The Walsh Men's Soccer team opened up their season with an away bout against the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks. In a fairly even contest, that saw the Cavs outshoot their opponents 13-8, Walsh was unable to find the back of the net, as they were defeated by Roberts Wesleyan 3-0. Sophomore goalkeeper, Nick Bertolini, came up big on several occasions, making 4 saves throughout the match. The Cavaliers will hope to turn things around Saturday, September 7th, at 12 P.M. when they face a familiar non-conference opponent in Daemen University. The Cavs previously drew against Daemen 1-1 in 2022 when they last played them on the road, and defeated them 2-1 last season in a home match.
