CANTON, OH: The Cavs traveled to Pioneer Park to face off against the Malone Pioneers last Saturday. After a quick start for the Cavs, scoring opened up early in the 3rd minute of the match after Jax Pena converted a penalty kick to give Walsh the lead. Malone equalized in the 20th minute, leaving the score level going into the break. The second half was a replication for the Cavs, scoring in the 51st minute through Gabe Anderson on an assist from Bobby Moore to regain the advantage over the Pioneers. However, the Pioneers equalized yet again in the 82nd minute to force the Cavs to settle for a point in this contest. The Cavs were not without opportunities, however. They had 23 shots to the Pioneers 7, with 11 on goal to 4.
This game was also a fierce battle with a total of 43 fouls and 8 yellow cards during the match.
The Maroon and Gold are back in action Thursday, October 16th, at 7:30 P.M. in Crestview Hills, Kentucky against the Thomas More University Saints.
