NORTH CANTON, OH: The athletic and academic year is officially two months in and four Cavs were the best of the best in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in October.
Kameron Stover,
Eddie Nichols,
Claire Rethman, and
AJ Burick were named G-MAC Athletes of the Week this past month.
Kameron Stover, a freshman on the Volleyball team, has continued her dominating play. In September, she was G-MAC Volleyball East Division Player of the Week twice. She earned it two more times in October with her incredible stat lines. She has helped lead the Volleyball team to a 10-0 start in G-MAC play and an overall record of 18-5. Teammate,
AJ Burick, also earned East Division Player of the Week honors in the week of October 14th. Burick's stats included 81 assists (10.1/set), 19 digs (2.4/set), 7 kills on 13 attempts with 0 errors (.538), 2 aces and 1 block.
Claire Rethman earned her honors after nearly beating the #1 ranked runner in DII at the Lewis Regional Crossover. Later in the month, Rethman earned a runner up finish at the G-MAC Championship race and earned All-Conference First Team.
Rounding out the October Athletes of the Week is
Eddie Nichols from Walsh Football. Eddie earned his honors the week of October 27th after the Cavs 41-20 win over Thomas More. Nichols had eight tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery that was taken 90-yards for a touchdown. This win clinched the most wins for the program in the NCAA era.
