NORTH CANTON, OH: Fall sports are officially wrapped up for the Maroon and Gold. The Cavaliers saw lots of success from August to November including a team G-MAC Championship, a Divisional G-MAC Championship, an All-American, one Coach of the Year, and two Freshmen of the Year. Congratulations to all our Student-Athletes on their high athletic and academic accomplishment this year.
Earning a team G-MAC Championship was the Men's Cross Country team as they won their 7th conference crown since 2017. The team was led by Freshman of the Year,
David D'Altorio. The team also notched four All-Conference First Team spots with D'Altorio,
Spiro Papas,
Kyle Woods, and
Theo Papas. Head Coach,
Rob Mizicko was named Great Midwest Coach of they Year.
The Women's Cross Country team, also led by Mizicko, had a fall which ended at the NCAA DII National Championship race in Kenosha, WI. The national qualifiers finished 2nd at the G-MAC Championships but a strong resume and race at the NCAA Regionals, propelled them to Kenosha. The Cavs were led all year by G-MAC individual runner-up and All-Confernece First Team selection,
Claire Rethman.
Claire Rethman then earned third overall at the National Championships earning All-American status. Her third place finish was the second highest finish in program history, behind Walsh Wall of Fame inductee, Sarah (Berger) Winkler.
Alyssa Stoner,
Bella Graham, and
Bailey Menegay earned All-Conference Second Team in the G-MAC.
Capturing their second Divisional G-MAC Championship in three years, the 12-4 Walsh Volleyball team clinched the South Division trophy. The Cavs were led by freshman,
Kameron Stover who earned G-MAC Freshman of the Year, All-Conference First Team, as well as G-MAC Athlete of the Week 5 times. Kami also broke the Kills per Set in a season record. Senior,
Grace Mazzocca, was named All-Conference Second Team.
Cavalier Football wrapped up their most successful season in the NCAA Era finishing 6-5 on the season. Five Cavs saw their name on the All-Conference Second Team list -
Marvin Conkle,
Chris Jones,
Jake Gill,
Austin Knowles, and
Jibril Bradford.
The Walsh Men's Soccer program had two Men crack the All-Conference awards. Senior,
Gabe Anderson, and Freshman,
Jax Pena, earned All-Conference Second Team.
