NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh Women's program opened their season 2-1 this past weekend. With new Head Coach, Johnny Montello, the Cavs won their first game vs Davenport on 11/14. The following day, the Maroon and Gold had a tough task at hand as they hosted the defending DII National Champions and current ranked #1 team in the country, Grand Valley State University. Hanging around through about two and a half quarters, GVSU's length, experience, and depth proved to be too much for Walsh to handle as the Cavs fell, 69-44.
The 3rd game of the season, the Women hosted local opponent, Bryant and Stratton. The team bounced back and earned their second win of the season with a dominant display of basketball.
Walsh will play their first road game on Thursday, November 20th at the University of Indianapolis.
