NORTH CANTON, OH - The Walsh University Cavaliers bounced back from their recent loss to Malone with a resounding 94-74 victory over the Ohio Dominican Panthers in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup at Alumni Arena on February 13th, 2025. This win improved Walsh's record to 8-14 overall and 4-12 in G-MAC play, while Ohio Dominican fell to 9-15 overall and 5-11 in conference action.
The Cavaliers dominated from the start, taking a commanding 50-37 lead into halftime. They maintained their momentum in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 44-37 to secure the 20-point victory.
Kobe Mitchell led the charge for Walsh with a stellar performance, scoring 20 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting, including a remarkable 6-of-8 from three-point range. Zack Oddo recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while also dishing out 7 assists. Matthew Biddell and Ayden Carter also contributed significantly, scoring 17 and 15 points respectively.
The Cavaliers' hot shooting proved to be the difference-maker, as they shot an impressive 57.1% from the field and 47.1% from beyond the arc. Their ball movement was also exceptional, recording 19 assists as a team.
For Ohio Dominican, Terrance Broughton led the team with 17 points, while Brady Moore and Elijah Hinton added 16 and 15 points respectively. Despite a solid offensive showing, the Panthers couldn't keep pace with Walsh's high-powered attack.
Walsh's dominant performance was reflected in their control of the paint, outscoring Ohio Dominican 34-34 in that area, and their bench contribution of 13 points. The Cavaliers also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 13 points off the Panthers' miscues.
