MORGANTOWN, WV: The Walsh University Cavaliers baseball team opened their 2025 season with a difficult doubleheader against California University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, February 23, at Mylan Park in Morgantown, WV.
In the first game, Walsh fell to California (PA) 10-2. The Cavaliers started strong with an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Andrew Morse singled to right field, driving in Brodey Acres. However, the Vulcans quickly took control, scoring two runs in the second inning and steadily building their lead throughout the game. Walsh's offense struggled, managing only six hits against California's pitching. Cam Hollobaugh and Josh Algarin each had two hits for the Cavaliers, while Brandon Cahill took the loss on the mound.
