ST. LOUIS, MO AND TARBORO, NC: The Walsh University Cavaliers Baseball team had a challenging stretch of games but managed to secure two key wins against Salem University and Saginaw Valley State University. Below is a breakdown of the week's results and highlights from the victories.

FOR THE CAVS IN GAME VS SALEM UNIVERSITY (3/4/2025):

Walsh defeated Salem University in a high-scoring affair, emerging victorious with an 11-8 win. The Cavaliers' offense was powered by timely hitting and strong performances across the lineup.

  • Mason Stoldt: Went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, including a solo shot in the eighth inning.

  • Brodey Acres: Collected three hits and drove in four runs, including a two-run double in the fourth inning.

  • Eli Sutton: Drove in two runs with a double in the third inning, finishing with one hit and two walks.

  • Ryan Chambers (W, 1-0): Earned the win in relief, pitching 1.1 innings without allowing an earned run.

FOR THE CAVS IN GAME VS SAGINAW VALLEY STATE (3/6/2025):

Walsh secured its second win of the season by defeating Saginaw Valley State University 12-7. A six-run eighth inning propelled the Cavaliers to victory.

  • Josh Algarin: Went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, including a sacrifice fly and an RBI double in the sixth inning.

  • Eli Sutton: Recorded four hits and three RBIs, including a clutch single in the sixth to tie the game at five.

  • Cam Hollobaugh: Drove in two runs on two hits, including an RBI single in the eighth inning that gave Walsh the lead for good.

  • Ryan Chambers (W, 2-0): Picked up his second win of the week by pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in relief.

The Cavs will take the field again at Ashland, on Friday, for a 3pm start.
