LYNCHBURG, VA: The Walsh University Cavaliers Lacrosse team suffered a challenging defeat against Lander with a final score of 14-4 on Tuesday. Walsh University trailed significantly by halftime, with Lander leading 8-0.
Despite a resilient second-half effort, the Cavaliers could only consolidate four goals. Scorers for Walsh included
AJ Harrison,
Hudson Dennill,
John Kortowich, and
Holton Marshall, each contributing a single goal.
James Sternberg provided two assists during the game. The Cavaliers' goalie,
Alex Movshin, faced a tough day at the net against a strong Lander offense led by Emory Watson.
The loss brings Walsh University's season record to 1-3. The Cavaliers are now focused on their next challenge, hoping for a turnaround in fortunes when they compete at the Larry Staudt Field on March 8th.
