NORTH CANTON, OH: After falling to the Malone Pioneers a year ago, the Cavs were on a mission to avenge the loss and defend their home turf. With this date circled on the schedule, the Maroon and Gold took care of business. From the opening face off, Walsh set the tone. The men were aggressive on both sides of the ball, forcing turnovers with strong pressure, and then capitalizing by notching 6 first period goals.
Walsh never really took the pedal off the gas on their way to taking 51 total shots with 28 being on goal. The Cavs were also 16-16 on clears and scooped 37 ground balls to Malone's 14.
The Cavs will take their 4-1 G-MAC record to Davenport, on Saturday, when they face the Panthers at 12pm. Davenport is a new associate conference member.
