NORTH CANTON, OH: Last night was the end of the regular for the Walsh Cavaliers Women's Lacrosse team! A dominating win over the Malone Pioneers lifted the team over .500 for the season! The win was a shut out, as the Cavs only allowed a total of 4 pioneer shots.
The Cavs scored 8 first quarter goals and never looked back as they scored 5 in the second and then 3, in the third and fourth quarter.
Rachel Black was the offensive leader for Walsh with 6 goals.
Katie Coomes connected on 5 as
MaryKate Novak,
Olivia Price,
Jossalyn Welch, and
Deanna Loukas each had a pair.
Mallory Miller led the defensive efforts securing 4 draw controls, scooping up 3 ground balls, and causing 2 turnovers.
In the finale victory, the Maroon and Gold clinched the Great Midwest postseason and were seeded 2nd. Ashland has also clinched the postseason play!
With the regular season wrapping up across the conference this weekend, more details for the playoffs are to be determined!
