NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh Cavaliers welcomed the Roberts Wesleyan University Redhawks to Larry Staudt Field on Saturday afternoon. A close quarters match unfortunately saw the Redhawks walk away with the victory, 2-0.
Scoring opened up for the Redhawks in the 32nd minute of play before adding a second goal in the 63rd minute. However, the Cavs did not go down without a fight. The Maroon and Gold out shot RWU 11-8 with seven shots on goal versus the Redhawks four. The Redhawks goalkeeper made seven saves during the match, proving to be a difficult obstacle for the Cavs to overcome. Stefan Velickovic had four of the Cavs 11 shots, putting three on goal. Goalkeeper, Nick Bertolini, made two saves. The Cavs will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Slippery Rock University at 4 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10th.
